Poetry Like Bread

In the course of reviewing this anthology of poetry, Schleuning analyzes the characteristics that distinguish political poetry from “art for art’s sake” poetry. In so doing, she offers a preliminary sketch of an aesthetics of political poetry that broadens our appreciation of these linguistic memories of our collective identity.
